Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: Roy Brunner called the
meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. Roy
introduced our sponsor for the evening, Dominion Resources.
Chet Bakus and
George Imel talked about Power Quality, Power Reliability
and Backup Power
Supplies available from Dominion Resources.
Business Meeting: Roy called the business
meeting to order at 7:15 P.M. The
minutes for the March 2004 meeting were approved as printed.
The attendance
for this evening's meeting was as follows: 26 hospital members,
24 associate
members and 14 guests. The actual count was 74. The 50/50
Raffle was drawn. Ed
Ross from EBCO Equipment, Inc. won $102. Thanks to Carolyn
Weissgerber for
selling the tickets. Nice job, young lady!
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker -- Dick
read the treasurer's report; it was
approved as read. Dick said that if anyone has not yet paid
their dues,
"You're late!" Please see Dick or send payment as
soon as possible.
New Members: We had two candidates approved
for membership tonight: Rick Ziegan,
The Marsh Company; and Bob Fredericks, Medical Gas Specialist,
Beacon Medaes.
HESP welcomes its new members.
Guests: We had five guests introduce
themselves tonight: Ken Doel, Craig Gipson;
Eric Gipson, Gipson Bearing in West Homestead; Gary Clark,
InterTECH; and
Susan Murgie, Sherwin Williams.
Committee Reports
Education: Michael Bryer -- Mike reminded
us that this year's Stationary
Engineers' classes will be on Wednesdays, October 6th and
13th, at Duquesne
University. The curriculum will be Fire Pumps and Filters.
Mike is awaiting
final approval from the city. Parking and lunch will be available.
This year's educational program will be held
on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 and
again on Wednesday, October 13, 2004. Participants will have
a choice of days
and will not have to attend both days. The program will be
held at Duquesne
University, Fisher Hall Conference Center starting at 7:30
A.M. Parking, lunch
and materials will be included in your registration cost.
This year's topics
are Fire Pump operation and Maintenance and Air Filtration.

Newsletter:
Ron Lukcic -- Ron thanked our advertisers, Walt and Marion,
our
"spirits dispensers," and our caterers.

ASHE: No Report. We are still looking
for an ASHE representative. [If you are interested in this

Biomedical: Dan Procupp -- Dan announced
that the AAMI catalog is out and he can get one for anyone
interested or, you can check their website [click
here].
Christmas In April: Chuck Froetschel
& Linda Cardello -- Chuck announced that this year's Christmas
in April will be held on Saturday, April 24th. The house is
in Green Tree. This year's Christmas in April is cosponsored
by The Builders Exchange. Persons of all skill levels are
encouraged to help with this worthwhile project. This information
will also be presented on our web site.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic -- Steve
said that this year's golf outing is scheduled for Thursday,
September 16th at the Lindenwood
Golf Club in Peters Township. Steve is looking for hole
sponsors. More information to follow [check our Events
page for the latest information].
Membership: Brenda Henwood --
No Report.
Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel -- This
year's holiday party will be on Friday, December 10 at the
American Serbian Club, downstairs. We will have our regular
caterers and "spirits dispensers," Walt and Marion.
The theme will be a Monte
Carlo night with games of chance. More information to follow.
Picnic: Bruce Saddler -- Bruce said
that this year's picnic will be on Saturday, July 24th at
Overlook
Park, which is approximately one mile behind the Monroeville
Mall. t's a family event. Bruce is still looking for additional
committee members.

Adjournment: There being no further
business, Ray adjourned the meeting at 7:25 P.M.
