Business Meeting Minutes
Call to order: President Ray Franks
called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. Ray introduced our
speaker for the evening, Tyco Fire and Security, Simplex Grinnell,
who brought samples of their products. David Diederich and
Tom Rauscher talked about integrating building systems and
codes pertaining to fire and security systems along with products
available through their company.
Business Meeting: Ray Franks called
the business meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. The minutes of
the December 2003 meetings were approved as printed. The attendance
for this evening's meeting was as follows: 24 Hospital members,
28 associate members and 16 guests. The actual count was 84.
The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Dick Barker. Dick won $104.50.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker read
the treasurer's report; it was approved as read. We also had
a vote on the treasurer's report, which was approved. Dick
said HESP raised $562.00 for Wings for Children, slightly
more than last year. Dick also announced that invoices for
2004 dues have been mailed and everyone should have gotten
one by now. There are still a few ad invoices that need paid.
New Members: We had three candidates
approved for membership tonight: Barry F. McLaughlin,
Nalco; Vince Pugliese, Plant Supervisor at Barber Spring
Company; and Ryan Keenan, Hanco Ltd. HESP welcomes
its new members.
Guests: We had three guests introduce
themselves tonight. James Fisher, Abel Fire and Ralph &
Chris Hartzell, Washington Plaza Apartments. . HESP welcomes
its new member.
Committee Reports
Education: Michael Bryer - Mike told
us that he is making plans for the 2004 Stationary Engineers'
class. More information to follow. Mike is looking for ideas
for the class.
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic - Ron asked that
anyone who wants to make a change in their ad to please see
him. He also expressed his appreciation to all advertisers
both past and future. Ron also expressed our thanks to Walt
and Marion for the great munchies and excellent service..
Membership: Roy Brunner - Ray announced
that with his election to President-Elect, we will be looking
for someone to replace him as the membership chairperson.
After brief discussion, Brenda Henwood agreed to chair this
committee.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks -
No report.
ASHE: No report. We are still looking
for an ASHE representative. [If you are interested in this

Biomedical: Dan Procupp - No report.
Christmas in April: Chuck Froetschel
- No report.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic - No report.
Holiday Party: Brenda Henwood - This
year's Holiday Party was held at the Oakmont Yacht Club on
Saturday, December 6, 2003. The entertainment was good and
all had a good time. Brenda asked if someone else would be
willing to take over as chairperson of this committee. Chuck
Froetschel agreed to assume the position.
Picnic: Bruce Saddler - Ron Gault said
that this year's picnic will be on Saturday, July 24, 2004,
at a new location, Overlook Park in Monroeville.
Old Business: No report.
New Business: No report.
Adjournment: There being no further
business, Dan adjourned the meeting at 8:14 p.m.
