Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: President Ray Franks
called the meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. Ray introduced our
sponsor for the evening, Craft Products Company. John Baum
and Gene Donachie talked about water treatment controls available
through Craft Products and their advantages over manual chemical
feeds and blowdowns..
Business Meeting: Ray Franks called
the business meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. The minutes of
the February 2004 meeting were approved as printed. The attendance
for this evening's meeting was as follows: hospital members
21, associate members 35 and 6 guests. The actual count was
68. The 50/50 raffle ticket was drawn. The total collected
was $172. John Baum of Craft Products won $86.00.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker
Dick read the treasure's report; it was approved as read.
Dick also announced last call for anyone who has not paid
their 2004 dues. He said that, "Anyone not paid will
off the list, unless we talk tonight!"
New Members: There were five candidates
that were approved for membership this evening: Larry DeDominicis,
BET student at PSU; Brad F. Strecker, Regional Manager of
Sound Imaging; Craig Gipson, President of Gipson Bearing Supply
Company; Susan Murgie, Sales Rep for Sherwin Williams Company;
and Christopher S. Martin, Mobil Air Inc. HESP welcomes its
new members..
Committee Reports
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic Ron thanked
all of our advertisers both old and new and asked us to support
the green pages. As always, Ron is looking for articles of
interest for the newsletter and extended our thanks to our
caterer and to Walt and Marion for exceptional food and service.
Education: Michael Bryer -- This year's
Stationary Engineers classes will be held on Wednesdays, October
6th and 13th, 2004. Participants will have a choice of days
and will not have to attend both. The program will be held
at Duquesne University's Fisher Hall Conference Center, starting
at 7:30 a.m. Parking, lunch and materials will be included
in your registration cost. This year's topics are fire pump
operation and maintenance and air filtration. The cost and
further registration information will be available shortly.

Membership: Brenda Henwood In
regard to our challenge to see which organization can provide
the most members present at a meeting, tonight's winner is
Penn State University with three members present, each of
whom received a Starbuck's Mother's Day card.
ASHE:
No Report. It was announced that an ASHE representative will
speak at June's meeting.
Biomedical: Dan Procupp -- no report.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks --
No report.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic -- Steve
reminded us that this year's golf outing is scheduled for
Thursday, September 16th at the Lindenwood
Golf Club in Peters Township. Steve is looking for hole
sponsors. More information to follow [check our Events
page for the latest information].
Picnic: Bruce Saddler -- Bruce reminded us that this
year's picnic will be on Saturday, July 24th at Overlook
Park, which is approximately one mile behind the Monroeville
Mall. Bruce has arranged a caterer and soliciting ideas for
activities and for volunteers to work on this committee. Activities
at this family event will include a moon walk, "bouncy
boxing" and a magician. Information will be mailed out
in late June.
Christmas In April:
Chuck Froetschel & Linda Cardello -- This year's project
took place on April 24, 2004, and was sponsored by Siemens
and Cardello Electric along with The Builder's Exchange and
the Carpenter's Union This was a light project at a house
located in Green Tree. Renovations included a new electric
service, rewiring and the installation of a dedicated line
to the homeowner's oxygen system. Thanks to all who participated
in this worthwhile project.
Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel -- Chuck
reminded us that this year's holiday party will be on Friday,
December 10 at the American Serbian Club, downstairs. The
theme will be a Monte Carlo night with games of chance, slots,
poker, roulette, and a crap table. No money will be involved;
we will be using tickets given out at the door. We will be
using our regular caterers and "spirits dispensers,"
Chuck wants to lowe the cost and have it at a more central
location..
Old Business:
No report
New Business: Al
Bonomo, Baldwin Health Center, announced that he is looking
for an assistant maintenance person. [See Employment].
Ray Franks stated that
next month's meeting will be the mini tradeshow and that there
are still a few tables remaining at a cost of $300 each. Roy
is also looking for sponsors for the December 2004 and January
and February 2005 meetings. Interested persons should contact

Chuck reminded us that
our website is up and running and sponsors can link to our
site for a fee of $100/year. Interested persons should contact
Dan, Chuck
or Roy.
Adjournment: There
being no further business, Ray adjourned the meeting at 7:25
P.M.
