Business Meeting Minutes

Call to Order: President Roy Brunner called the meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. Roy introduced our sponsor for the evening, MedRad. Kathy Hussey talked about probes and sensors and explained sales and service available from MedRad.

Business Meeting: Roy called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. The minutes of the March 2005 meeting were approved as printed. The attendance for this evening's meeting was as follows: 25 hospital members; 31 associate members; and 8 guests. The actual count was 76.

Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker -- Dick Barker read the Treasurer's report. It was approved as read. The 50/50 raffle was drawn. Ryan Kastenbaum, student at Penn State, New Kensington, won $82.00.

New Members: There were three candidates approved for membership this evening: Jeff Getkin Assa Abloy, Door Security Solutions; Lee A. Wetzel, Nalco; and Steve Puryear, Director of Engineering and Maintenance at Forbes Road Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Guests: Josh Tarosky and Sam Qtaishat, students at Penn State, New Kensington, introduced themselves.

Committee Reports

Education: Michael Bryer -- Mike is working on a program for Stationary Engineer training classes for the fall. Mike is open to suggestions and ideas, and would welcome volunteers to help on this committee. Mike's contact information is on the back of the newsletter.

Newsletter: Ron Lukcic -- Ron pointed out the new layout of the back page of the newsletter and expressed concern that some of the newsletters might have been damaged in the mail. Ron also thanked our advertisers, both old and new. Thanks and appreciation were given to Walt and Marion and our caterers. As always, Ron is looking for articles of interest and / or humor for the newsletter.

Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks -- No Report.

ASHE: Roy mentioned recent changes in regulations regarding the use of bed rails. He will E-mail this information to anyone interested. Roy's contact information is on the back of the newsletter.

BIOMED: Dan Procupp -- No Report.

Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic -- Thursday, September 15, 2005 is this year's date for the golf outing to be held at the Lindenwood Golf Club in Peters Township. More details to follow.

Membership: Brenda Henwood -- No Report.

Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel -- Chuck said that he is planing this year's holiday party to be similar to last year's function, a Monte Carlo night. The event will be held at the American Serbian Club on Friday, December 9th. Chuck said we will have one more slot machine and we will have music this year. He is looking for ideas and suggestions.

Picnic: Bruce Saddler -- Bruce reminded us that this year's picnic will be held on July 23rd at at Overlook Park in Monroeville. He is in the process of reserving the caterer and the entertainment. He has "Giant Trike Racing" lined up. Bruce is also looking for ideas, suggestions and volunteers. Please contact Bruce or Ron Gault. They will be holding a meeting at next month's meeting at 5:30PM to assemble a committee. More details to follow.

Web Site/Marketing: Alice Atkins (The Write Design) -- Alice reminded everyone that our web site is up and running. Please check it out for information, job listings and an incoming newsflash.

Old Business: No Report.

New Business: Myron Hartman suggested that our organization once again, as we
have done in the past, sponsor two Eagle Scouts. As in past years, the
criteria should be students in an engineering or bio-medical major and he said
the cost should be about $100 -- total. A quick vote of the membership was
taken. It was approved.

Adjournment: There being no further business, Ray adjourned the meeting at 7:57
P.M.
