Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: President Roy Brunner
called the meeting to order at 6:45 P.M.
Roy introduced our sponsor for the evening, Deckman Company.
Bill David of
Deckman introduced Gene Deucette of Ultra Violet Devices,
Inc., our speaker
for the evening. Gene gave a brief history of Ultra Violet
and demonstrated
devices and talked about products and services available from
Ultra Violet
Devices, Inc. to enhance indoor air quality and kill bacteria
in water systems
in health care facilities.
Business Meeting: Roy called the meeting
to order at 7:45 P.M. The minutes of
the January 2005 meeting were approved as printed. The attendance
for this
evening's meeting was as follows: 19 hospital members; 28
associate members;
and 5 guests.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker -- Dick
Barker read the Treasurer's report. It
was approved as read. The 50/50 raffle was drawn. Bruce Sadler
won $84.00.
New Members: There were four candidates
approved for membership this evening.
They were: Larry J. Mignogna, EBCO Equipment; Joe Shehab,
United Medical
Products; John R. Skal, Controls Link, Inc.; and Mark Weber,
United Medical
Products/Skytron. HESP welcomes its new members.
Committee Reports
Education: Mike said he is working on
a program for Stationary
Engineer training classes for the fall. Mike is open to suggestions
and ideas
and would welcome volunteers to help on this committee. Mike's
contact
information is on the back of the newsletter.
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic -- Ron said that
this is the last week to report
corrections, errors or omissions or to place a new ad for
the 2005 newsletter.
Ron's contact information is also on the back of the newsletter.
Ron also
thanked our spirits dispensers, Walt and Marion, for their
exceptional service
and appetizers.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks
No Report.
ASHE: No Report.
Biomed: Dan Procupp Dan announced
that The Virginia Biomedical Association
will be holding a seminar on February 11, 2005 at Winter Green
Resort in the
Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. This is a JCACO education
seminar. The cost
to attend is $50.00 per person. See Dan for more information.
Christmas In April: Chuck Froetschel
and Linda Cardello Walker. No Report.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic -- Thursday,
September 15, 2005 is this year's date
for the golf outing to be held at Lindenwood Golf Club in
Peters Township.
More details to follow.
Membership: Brenda Henwood -- No Report. Roy suggested
that Sales Reps mention our organization when talking to their
customers.
Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel -- Chuck
reported that he is planing this year's holiday
party to be similar to last year's function. The event
will be held at the American Serbian Club. He is looking for
ideas and suggestions.
Picnic: Bruce Saddler -- Bruce reminded
us that this year's picnic will be held
on July 23rd at Overlook
Park in Monroeville. He is in the process of
reserving the caterer and the entertainment. Bruce is also
looking for ideas,
suggestions and volunteers. Please contact Bruce or Ron Gault.
They will be
holding a meeting at next month's meeting. More details to
follow.
Web Site/Marketing: Alice Atkins, The
Write Design, -- Alice asked that we respond to any emails
sent by her because she is compiling the mailing list. She
reminded everyone
to check the web site, which is changing monthly, to keep
up with new
information on HESP and job
postings.
Old Business: Dan presented a "Thank
You" card from his niece, Carolyn
Wessgerber, expressing her appreciation for HESP's get-well
gift. She is fully
recovered and busy back at school. She said that she would
like to come back
soon to sell 50/50 tickets.
New Business: Chuck mentioned that during
his recent JCAHO inspection, an
engineer was present with them during the time period.
Adjournment: There being no further
business, Ray adjourned the meeting at 8:02
P.M.
