Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: President Roy Brunner
called the meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. Roy introduced our
sponsor for the evening, Grainger. Vanessa Kostic of Grainger
introduced Advance Ballast's, Hubble, Ballou-Dalloz, Lithonia
Lighting, Bosch Tools, Masterlock, Brady, Motorola, Dewalt,
Rubbermaid, Emerson, Square D and Fluke, all participating
in our mini trade show. Each vendor had a table set up with
their products on display and after dinner each vendor made
a short presentation. Many any door prizes were raffled.
Business Meeting: Roy called the meeting
to order at 7:45 P.M. The minutes of the December 2004 meeting
were approved as printed. The attendance for this evening's
meeting was as follows: 33 hospital members; 31 associate
members; and 13 guests. The actual count was 94.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker
Dick Barker read the Treasurer's report. It was approved as
read. Dick said that dues notices will be mailed out in the
next few days or anyone who wants to can pay tonight. The
50/50 raffle was drawn. David C. Paolicelli won $115.00.
New Members: There were two new candidates
approved for membership this evening. They were: Richard Downey
and Gene P. Ciafre, General Products and Supply. HESP welcomes
its new members.
Guests: We had two guests introduce
themselves tonight: Mark Weber, United Medical Products; and
Ryan Kastenbaum, student at Penn State New Ken.
Committee Reports
Education:
Michael Bryer No Report. Ron Gault passed along Bill
Stranahan's best wishes to all of us for a Happy and Healthy
New Year.
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic Ron said
we are looking for ads both new and renewals. There will be
a two week window to report errors or omissions after January's
newsletter. Ron's contact information is on the back of the
newsletter.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks
No Report. Roy mentioned new FDA regulations on bed
rails regarding entrapment. These regulations cover new equipment
only.
ASHE: No Report.
Biomed: Dan Procupp Dan is asking
for information and suggestions from other Bio Meds.
Christmas In April: Chuck Froetschel
and Linda Cardello Walker. No Report.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic
Steve informed us that Thursday, September 15, 2005 is this
year's date for the outing to be held at Lindenwood Golf Club
in Peters Township. Steve said "there will be new stuff
this year in an effort to spice it up." More details
to follow.
Membership: Brenda Henwood No
Report. Roy suggested that Sales Reps mention our organization
when talking to their customers.
Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel
Chuck reported that this year's holiday
party was on Friday, December 10 at 6:30 P.M. at the American
Serbian Club, downstairs. We had our regular caterers and
"spirits dispensers," Walt and Marion. The theme
was a Monte Carlo night with games of chance, slots, poker,
roulette and a crap table. No money was involved; we used
tickets handed out at the door. Chuck thanked everyone for
coming and agreed to chair this committee this year, too.
Picnic: Bruce Saddler Ron announced that this
year's picnic will be held on July 23rd at Overlook
Park in Monroeville. More details to follow.
Old Business: Alice Atkins, The
Write Design, reminded everyone to check the web site
which is changing monthly and to look for a NewsFlash before
next month's meeting. Also, look for new information on HESP
and job postings.
Alice will soon launch our new membership drive, which will
target educational, health care and nursing home facilities.
New Business: Dan Procupp asked that
we all try to help with lining up sponsors for the coming
year. Dan, also, passed along his niece's gratitude for the
gift card from HESP during her recent hospitalization. She
is back home and doing well.
Adjournment: There being no further
business, Ray adjourned the meeting at 7:58 P.M.
