Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: President Roy Brunner
called the meeting to order at 6:45 P.M. Roy introduced our
sponsor for the evening, Pittsburgh Air Systems, Inc. Curt
Marsh and Bob English, Pittsburgh Air Systems, demonstrated
several devices that they brought with them and talked about
cost-effective solutions for common HVAC problems available
from Pittsburgh Air Systems.
Business Meeting: Roy called the meeting
to order at 7:45 P.M. The minutes of the February 2005 meeting
were approved as printed. The attendance for this evening's
meeting was as follows: 15 hospital members; 31 associate
members; and 2 guests. The actual count was 59.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker -- Dick
Barker read the Treasurer's report. It was approved as read.
The 50/50 raffle was drawn. Mark Lantz won $86.00 and will
be donating it to The Little Sisters of the Poor.
New Members: There were no new candidates
for membership this evening.
Committee Reports
Education: Michael Bryer -- Mike is
working on a program for Stationary Engineer training classes
for the fall. Mike is open to suggestions and ideas, and would
welcome volunteers to help on this committee. Mike's contact
information is on the back of the newsletter.
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic -- Ron thanked
our advertisers both old and new. Any
recent new members, who did not receive a coffee
mug, should see Ron. Ron also thanked our caterers and our
spirits dispensers, Walt and Marion, for their exceptional
service and appetizers.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks --
No Report.
ASHE: No Report.
Biomed: Dan Procupp -- No Report.
Christmas In April: Chuck Froetschel
and Linda Cardello Walker. No Report.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic -- Thursday,
September 15, 2005 is this year's date for the golf outing
to be held at the Lindenwood
Golf Club in Peters Township. More details to follow.
Membership: Brenda Henwood -- No Report.
Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel -- Chuck
said that he is planing this year's holiday party to be similar
to last year's function, a Monte Carlo night. The event will
be held at the American Serbian Club on Friday, December 9th.
Chuck said we will have one more slot machine and we will
have music this year. He is looking for ideas and suggestions.
Picnic: Bruce Saddler -- Bruce reminded
us that this year's picnic will be held
on July 23rd at at Overlook
Park in Monroeville. He is in the process of reserving
the caterer and the entertainment. He has "Giant Trike
Racing" lined up. Bruce is also looking for ideas, suggestions
and volunteers. Please contact Bruce or Ron Gault. They will
be holding a meeting at next month's meeting at 5:30PM to
assemble a committee. More details to follow.

New Business: It was announced that
The Marsh Company will be holding a lecture and seminar on
medical gas at Jimmy GIs Restaurant in Sharpsburg starting
at 8:00 AM on March 24, 2005. Anyone interested can contact

Curt Marsh and Bob English from Pittsburgh
Air Systems-Air Industrial sponsored the March meeting. The
topic of their presentation was "Cost Effective Solutions
for Common Hospital HVAC Problems". Some of the items
that were discussed included:
- Filter pressure drop and energy consumption
- Air mixing for High Outdoor Air loading
- Filtration for hazardous exhaust from labs, isolation
rooms and sterilizers
- Gas phase monitoring and filtration for Outdoor Air intakes
located by loading docks and heliports
- Security air distribution for psychiatric wards
- Monitoring and exhaust systems for ETO sterilizer rooms
- Solving temperature control problems with VAV diffusers
