ASHE: Roy mentioned ASHE news flash #15, reporting that several hospitals across
the country have had persons impersonating JCAHO inspectors. These people
wanted to see sensitive areas of the facility such as boiler rooms but quickly
left the premises after being questioned. JCAHO asks that if you have such a
person come to your facility, to ask for identification and photocopy it if
possible, record any license plate number and preserve any surveillance video
of the area. These incidents should be reported to your local police and to
MCAC at: 301-586-4603. Roy would be happy to send this bulletin to anyone
interested. Roy's contact information is on the back of the newsletter.
