Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: President Roy Brunner
called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. Roy introduced our
sponsors for the evening: G. V. Hamilton and Owens Corning.
Doug Anderson of G. V. Hamilton introduced Dr. John G. Hadley,
Ph.D., Director of Toxicology & Respiration, Chuck Stanislav,
area sales manager, and George Bowne, Moisture / Mold Manager
from Owens Corning. Dr. Hadley gave a brief overview of the
human respiration system and explained how it is affected
by foreign objects, such as mold and fiberglass. Chuck and
George showed us a new type of pipe insulation: "VaporWick,"
made by Owens Corning that reduces moisture buildup between
the pipe & the insulation...thereby inhibiting the growth
of mold. This insulation is available from G. V. Hamilton.
Business Meeting: Roy called the meeting to order at
7:30 P.M. The minutes of the September 2005 meeting were approved
as printed. The attendance for this evening's meeting was
as follows: 25 hospital members, 25 associate members and
4 guests. The actual count was 66.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker -- Dick read the Treasurer's
report. It was approved as read. The 50/50 raffle was drawn.

Committee Reports
Education: Michael Bryer -- Mike announced
that the dates for this year's Stationary Engineers' classes
will be November 10th or November 17th, 2005. This is a change
from the previously announced dates of November 1st and November
8th. These are all day classes and attendance is only needed
at one of them. Class content will be: air compression, boiler
startup and shutdown. Mike said that the cost, which includes
lunch and parking, will be $100 for HESP members and $125
for non-members. A non-member wishing to join can have the
$25 fee applied towards his or her 2006 dues. Anyone wishing
to do this should contact Mike. Information has been mailed
out this week and is
available on the HESP web site.
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic -- Ron said that he is soliciting
ads for next year's newsletter, which will start in January
at no increase in price. Ron, also, thanked our advertisers,
both old and new. Thanks and appreciation were given to Walt
and Marion, our dispenser and dispenser-ette. As always, Ron
is looking for articles of interest and/or humor for the newsletter.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks -- (Did not attend)
- Comments are being solicited for new ventilation requirements
in hospitals and for new EPA regulations for new generators

end of the year.

Additionally, we will have music this year. Chuck is looking
for ideas and suggestions. Donations would, also, be greatly

be a light project consisting of painting, landscaping, woodwork
and general clean up. Those wishing to volunteer for this
worthy project are asked to contact any of the officers on
the back of the newsletter.
Discussion took place as to what our response
will be to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. This will
be further discussed at the upcoming board meeting. Chuck,

(those affected by Katrina and who is in the hospital maintenance
field) that they please pass this information on to any of
the officers for further consideration.
