year's publication, which will start in January. Ron thanked all of our
advertisers, both old and new. Ron, also, thanked Carol Lang from Filtech for

for the party committee. He also would like to have a rough count of how many
will be attending the party by next meeting. See Chuck or look for his contact
information on the back of the newsletter.
Summer Activity: Bruce Saddler & Ron Gault -- Bruce and Ron would like feedback
on this year's activity and ideas for next year. The same thing or something

that the web site is up and running and asked that everyone sign on and sign
up for the newsletter. She is also looking for articles of interest for the
newsletter.
Hospital Engineers Special Projects: No Report.
Old Business: The following is a synopsis from Bob Tobin, Bio-Med at West Penn
Hospital. Bob is working with a group of other area hospitals to standardize
inspections with The State Department of Health.
"Dan had asked me to speak under old business, concerning Biomed. I gave a
brief talk on what I have done to date to help us all work together. I was
able to bring the Biomedical groups together to discuss how we are all
doing our business. For example, Penn State New Kensington, UPMC
Biotronics, West Penn Allegheny Health Systems, Heritage Valley Beaver
Medical, St. Clair & Jefferson Hospitals, and many more phone conversations
from area hospitals outside of Pittsburgh. Also, I was able to speak at the
Amerinet meetings, asking for the Biomed groups to begin to work
together and come to an agreement to work together. The purpose of my
actions is to join all together: To help standardize what we do in order to
assist our inspectors.
We were and still are doing different procedures at many facilities and I
am trying to standardize what we do in order to stop the confusion in the
Biomed community.
We are meeting on a regular basis at our area hospitals to share
information. This is ground breaking for all of our groups to work
together. I am very proud of this accomplishment." --Bob Tobin
Ron Gault followed up on his information last month, regarding tours of the
Carrie Furnace Works of United States Steel for which he has volunteered to be
a tour guide. Ron said that the tours are very interesting and would recommend
them for everyone. He received lots of positive feedback from wives and
daughters of steelworkers who always wondered what their husbands/fathers work
sites were like but never saw them. He said that anyone interested in a "real
interesting tour" should plan to attend the
9:30 A.M. or 12:30 P.M. tour, which he will be hosting. The program, entitled
Rivers of Steel, can be found at www.riversofsteel.com
New Business: Ron Gault informed us of a position for a Registered Electrician
opening at Duquesne University. Job requirements and applications will be
found on line at www.duq.edu Ron stressed that registration with the City of
Pittsburgh is a requirement.
Dan announced that we are seeking someone for President-Elect for 2007 and are
looking for volunteers. He, also, asked that we look in the newsletter
whenever we are in a position to spend some of our organizations' money and to
support those who support us.
Adjournment: There being no further business, Dan adjourned the meeting at 8:01
P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Frank Rutledge
