Business Meeting Minutes
Call to Order: President, Terry Kocian, called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Terry introduced Beverly Beile, our speaker for the evening. Beverly recently
conducted a survey among the membership asking questions on a variety of
topics. There were over 150 member responses to this survey that she tabulated
and presented to the membership. It was a very enlightening analysis with many
good suggestions, some of which have already been implemented. We would like
to thank Beverly for all of her hard work and dedication and also thanks to
all of the members who participated in this evaluation.
Business Meeting: President-Elect, Bob Tobin, called the meeting to order 7:06
P.M. The attendance for this evening's meeting was as follows: 21 hospital
members; 22 associate members; and 5 guests. The actual count was fifty-four
(54). The minutes from the April 2007 meeting were approved as printed.
Treasurer's Report: Dick Barker -- Dick read the Treasurer's report. It was
approved as read.
New Members: There were no new applicants for membership tonight.
Guests: We had four guests introduce themselves tonight: Steve Silicato, Marcor;
Don DiEmidio, Warwood Armature; Cindy Stover, Electronic Restoration Services;
and Joseph Arndt, Conco Systems.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Education: Michael Bryer -- No Report.
Newsletter: Ron Lukcic -- Ron expressed our thanks to all of our advertisers. As
usual, Ron is looking for articles of interest and / or humor for the
newsletter.
Codes and Regulations: Bill Brooks -- No Report.
ASHE: No Report.
Biomed: Dan Procupp -- Bob Tobin. No Report.
Membership: Brenda Henwood -- No Report.
Holiday Party: Chuck Froetschel -- No Report.
Summer Activity: Bruce Saddler -- This year's activity will again be a tailgate
party at The Washington Wild Things baseball game on Saturday, July 21, 2007
at Falconi field in Washington, Pa. The game will start at 7:05 P.M. We will
have a pavilion and catered ballpark food. Bruce also told us that the cost
will be the same as last year. Members are free and guests will be $10.00
each. The cost includes game tickets, parking and food. Extra parking passes
are available. Bruce would like a count of those interested in attending by
early June. He said to bring the kids to this reasonably priced, family fun
event.
Golf Outing: Steve Tarasovic -- This year's golf outing will be at the
Lindenwood Golf Course in Peters Township on Thursday, September 13, 2007.
Ryan announced that the tee off time has been changed to 11:00 AM. More
information to follow.
Web Site/Marketing: Alice Hoffmaster (The Write Design) -- Alice said that she
has a list of "unconfirmed subscribers" to the web site. Anyone not getting
e-mail announcements should see Alice to see if you are on her list. Alice
also said that she will be setting up a help line for questions shortly.
Hospital Engineers Special Projects: No Report.
Sponsorship Committee: Dan said that we have another mini-trade show scheduled
for September and have tables available. We also have several months available
for 2007. Information packets are available upon request either on the web
site or by contacting Dan or Roy. Their contact information is listed on the
back of the publication.
Old Business: No Report.
New Business: Eric Fetterman of NAPE announced a change in location of the NAPE
meetings. They will be held at The Hampton Inn, in Greentree. Also, an audit
of HESP was conducted last month with Mark Lantz, Lantz and Associates,
assisting. The results are being tabulated and will be available soon.
Adjournment: There being no further business, Terry adjourned the meeting at
7:16 P.M.

Meeting Synopsis
HESP sincerely thanks Beverly Beile, HESP surveyor, for her diligent efforts,
time and talent. Obviously, Beverly conducted the survey with HESP's interests
and concerns in total focus. The following will outline the results presented.
Beverly started her survey in January 2007 and ended in February. She made
hundreds of phone calls, devoted one hundred and twenty-seven (127) hours and
talked to approximately 160 people after contacting 231 members.
Her presentation at the meeting was, not only, thorough, but also, humorous and
professionally presented.
A recent survey was conducted with a number of questions being posed to both
engineering and associate members of our organization. There were 56 responses
from engineering members and 106 responses from associate members.
A percentage breakdown of the responses follows.
