SIMPLEX / GRINNELL
Representing SimplexGrinnell was Jeff Gasparik, Joe Riley, Emilio Posa, and Mark
Herda.
SimplexGrinnell has been known for its fire alarm systems and sprinkler systems.
We would like to take this opportunity to show you our suppression systems and
services available from system maintenance to complete testing and inspecting,
providing reports and documentation for JCAHO requirements.
Joe Riley, Suppression Manager, demonstrated the Sapphire Clean Agent
extinguishing liquid and discussed it uses in critical systems and storage
applications. Although wet pipe and pre action sprinkler systems are code
approved to be used in telecommunication, electrical, and computer rooms, due to
the sensitivity of this equipment to water damage, customers may want an
alternate means of Fire Protection. For these and similar hazards,
SimplexGrinnell offers a choice of several Clean Agent extinguishing systems. FM
200, Inergen, and Novec 1230 (Sapphire) are all Clean Agent Gas Systems that are
a replacement to Halon 1301.
Each of these gas systems is a clean, non-corrosive gas, which is designed to
extinguish fire. All are especially valuable where other extinguishing medias
might damage stock or valuable equipment. These systems are used most often in
computer, electrical, and telecommunication equipment rooms. Introduced during
the mini-trade show was a newer product called Sapphire, which is manufactured
by 3M. It is a fluid that works as a gas yet it is a liquid at room temperature.
Sapphire is used to extinguish Class A, B and C fires via its cooling effects.
This agent extinguishes fires at concentrations of 4-6% by volume and thus it
offers the largest safety margin of any chemical clean agents for occupied
spaces.
In addition to Special Hazard and Clean Agent systems, SimplexGrinnell provides
everything you need for your kitchen's fire suppression and range/kitchen hood
system. From design through installation, our services reflect an understanding
of your facility's special requirements. For additional information, please
visit https://www.ansul.com/en/Products/product -- list.asp.
Emilio Posa, Service Sales Representative, discussed SimplexGrinnell's offering
of unparalleled services, including test and inspection, preventive maintenance, central station monitoring and around-the-clock emergency services for virtually
all industry systems and products. For additional information on the services
offered by SimplexGrinnell, please visit http://www.simplexgrinnell.com/services/.
For local sales and service support, please see our ad in this HESP news
booklet. We would like to thank HESP for this opportunity to support the organization and
to bring value to its membership by introducing new and additional products and
services.
Best Regards,
JEFF GASPARIK
